Why this deck ?

This deck takes part in the ExAltered deck bulding contest.

The goal is to create a starter deck for the 12 heroes that don't have an official one yet. The idea is to have decks for all heroes so new players can easily discover the gimmicks of all of them.

Here is the deck I made for Subhash & Marmo from Axiom faction. It follows the same structure than the official starter decks that have exactly 40 cards (including 8 rares + the hero) :

• 5 rare cards that complete a series of 3 copies

• 1 rare card of the same faction that is the only copy of that card name in the deck, and 2 different Out Of Faction rares.

• the rest of the cards are commons, and always in 3 copies.

Gameplan

This deck have a lot of cards that are great when played from your reserve (cheaper and/or nice effects) because you will put cards in your reserve (and pay ) to generate tokens with your hero power.

One of the ideas of the deck is to generate multiple tokens (thanks to Hub des Scarabots, Armurière de la Fonderie, Jeanne d'Arc and also Ruche des Scarabots + Entraînement Mécanique) and boost them with Ogun or the rare Ruche des Scarabots.

Boum ! is great because you’ll have, hopefully, tokens to sacrifice (or smaller characters).

Permanents are really important in this deck.

Starting hand

Having rare Hub des Scarabots + Ogun in your starting hand may be the best way to start because day 1 you will be able to play the permanent and also pay to activate your hero power. The next day, you will be able to pay to generate 2 tokens et and play Ogun to boost them. Same thing the day after if you still have Ogun in your reserve.

Rare Ingénieure de la Fonderie + Mécanicienne de la Fonderie + Ruche des Scarabots is also a great way to start because you’ll be able to play Ruche des Scarabots day 2 while keeping pressure on the board.

Generally speaking, having a cost card in hand for the first day, and a cost card for day 2 is good. Because you can activate hero power and also play something on board.
