The main gameplan of this deck is to sacrifice small characters to boost Maw and make tokens with Moth Lantern.
The most effective card to keep for early and midgame is Amarok. using Amarok and any card that makes multiple characters you can easily boost Maw four times for a very cheap price, all while Amarok has decent stats itself.
The best cards to use with Amarok are:
This combo gets even better if you have a moth lantern in the expedition with Amarok, doubling the number of sacrifices and boosting Maw even more.
The best cards for removal and utility are cards that have sacrifice effects or cheap characters with an on play effect that can be sacrificd later.
Here are the cards I've used for this:
Once you have enough mana, The Kraken is a great way to finish out the game, or simply use Amarok to boost Maw as much as possible
Update-2/3/25: I've removed Boom and swapped it for spycraft After playing for a while I realized that the rare slot is better used for moth lantern as the cheaper price makes pulling off combos with it much easier. Spycraft is great for a bit of extra value, but it could easily be swapped for any good card draw or removal.
Update-2/23/25: Boom is back, and ordis carrier is out. Playing the carrier always felt like too much of a tempo loss for a fairly weak effect, and more removal was definitely necessary. Subbing boom for banishing gate and move babas isba to rare would also work well.
Update-3/22/25: Added Ysmir Stargazer in place of boom. As good as boom is, it can be tricky to use at times, and stargazer has been a lifesaver. the extra boost from stargazer can be like a double sacrifice for maw, but the best way to use them is with Amarok, making it one of the only ways to get extra stats in Amaroks expedition.
Update-6/3/25: The new set is here! there is not many cards in the set that work too well with this strategy, and I think the cards we got the can sacrifice are pretty weak. however, the new scout mechanic works great if Amarok is out, because he can sacrifice them before they are sent to reserve.

I see 3 single card draws (conditional with Jellyfish) and 3 more 2 card draws with gift of self. My question is, how often do you find yourself needing cards with this new meta of exhausting/removing? Would replacing Tooth Fairy for Baba Yaga have any value?
This comment makes sense: but drawing into something potentially helpful might not be quite as good as getting rid of something dangerous in reserve. Thank you!
